Your booking with Mey House

MAKING A RESERVATION

When you confirm a booking, you are entering into a contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) with The Mey House Partnership.

PRICING

Mey House offers a standard rate which includes bed & breakfast for a maximum of two people and prices are guaranteed once you have been given a confirmation number.

For the avoidance of doubt, the standard price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay. Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with The Mey House Partnership that you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit or debit card for the amount of any shortfall.

DEPOSITS AND PRE-PAYMENTS

To secure your booking, we do require a non-refundable deposit of £40 per room per night to be paid. Payment can be made by debit or credit card and will be taken in accordance with the terms & conditions of your booking. In the event of cancellation, payment will be taken in accordance with our cancellation terms, (see CANCELLATIONS for details). A credit or debit card number will be required to guarantee the booking.

BALANCE OF MONIES OUTSTANDING

Mey House accepts payment by cash, debit and credit cards (excluding American Express).

 

Your time as our guests

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES

Your room will be ready for you from 4 pm, and the room must be vacated by 10.30 am on day of departure.

OCCUPANCY

The standard maximum occupancy of your room is 2 people. There is no discount for single occupancy.

CHILDREN

Children from the ages of 14 to 16 years are welcome at Mey House. However no additional beds are available and any child would need to stay in the superking bed provided as standard in each suite.

We regret that due to limitations on our alcohol licence, children under the age of fourteen are not permitted to stay at Mey House.

GUESTS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY

Mey House does not have modified facilities for guests with impaired mobility.

PETS

We are sorry but we do not permit pets to stay at Mey House. Guide or Assistance dogs are of course, most welcome.

SMOKING

Mey House and its grounds are NO SMOKING. If this very strict rule is ignored within the house there is a £100 deep cleansing charge.

MEAL ARRANGEMENTS

Your rate includes a full traditional or continental breakfast with tea or coffee and fruit juices. Should you have special dietary requirements, please inform us of these at the time of your booking.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may make in relation to your stay with us, please note that these requests do not form part of our contract and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests.

All promotional offers are subject to availability and no cash alternatives are available.

 

When it doesn’t go according to plan

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation by you

If you have to cancel a reservation it is in your interest to notify us immediately by telephone or email. In the event of a cancellation, costs will be incurred as follows:

* More than 14 days before your booking commences your deposit will be forfeited.
* Less than 14 days you will be liable to pay the full cost of your booking.

If you plan to re-book a stay with us, we will be happy to put any costs you incur towards a future non-transferable booking, if your stay is within 18 months of your cancellation date.

Please note: It is advisable to take out travel insurance to cover any costs that you may incur in the event of a cancellation.

Cancellation by us

Each booking is made in good faith with the belief that the room will be available on the date stated. If for any reason (due to circumstances beyond our control) the room is not available, we are unable to guarantee provision of alternative accommodation. In the event of this happening the deposit and any monies paid by you will be refunded in full. The guest will have no further claim against The Mey House Partnership.

REPAIRS TO THE ROOM

Occasionally due to damage or wear and tear an item of equipment may not be working. We will do our utmost to repair it as quickly as possible. However due to the remoteness of Mey House this can sometimes take a little longer than you might usually expect.

VEHICLES AND PERSONAL PROPERTY

Vehicles, accessories and contents are left at their owner’s risk.

The Mey House Partnership will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal property or any injury to persons not caused through the fault of the proprietor.

DAMAGES

Any damages must be reported prior to departure and will be charged in full.

RESTRICTIONS

We reserve the right to remove a person or persons from Mey House due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to the property or exceeding the stated occupancy and any refund is at the discretion of The Mey House Partnership.

FORCE MAJEUR

The Mey House Partnership shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.

As well as cancellation and curtailment insurance, guests are recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects.
